Un total de 15 compañías integran en el primer índice bursátil gallego creado por el Banco Etcheverría con el fin de dar a conocer la cotización en Bolsa de empresas gallegas o vinculadas a esta comunidad autónoma.

Las empresas que figuran en este índice son Inditex, Zeltia, Azkar, Fadesa, Unión Fenosa, Pescanova, Banco de Galicia, Adolfo Domínguez, Ence, Endesa, Banco Pastor, Gamesa, Tafisa, Repsol y Hullas del Coto Cortés. Un comité asesor seguirá su evolución y propondrá los cambios en el índice, mientras que un comité de dirección, integrado por profesionales externos a la entidad decidirá sobre su composición. El Banco Etcheverría asumirá el manejo de este índice, que dará a conocer a través de su página web y también a través de otros métodos, como los medios de comunicación.

En su presentación en A Coruña, el presidente del Banco Etcheverría, Javier Etcheverría, explicó que con esta iniciativa pretende prestar un "nuevo servicio a la sociedad gallega" y recordó que la entidad que preside capta todos sus recursos en esta autonomía e invierte también todo en la misma. Por su parte, el director general de la entidad financiera, Francisco Botas, recalcó que "es el primer índice que refleja la economía bursátil de las empresas relacionadas con Galicia" y afirmó que esto permitirá "comparar la evolución de estas empresas en relación con índices nacionales". El director general del Banco Etcheverría no descartó la creación de un producto financiero parejo al índice que ya se puede
consultar en la página web de la entidad, aunque matizó que esto sería "un segundo paso".
